These terms cover your use of refDB (“we”, “us”), a public reference database of hockey officiating records. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
refDB publishes officiating records — games, leagues, and career stats — compiled from publicly available game reports. Browsing the site (search, official profiles, leaderboards, game pages) doesn’t require an account. An account is only needed to submit a request: linking an official profile to yourself, flagging duplicate records for merging, or reporting a missing game.
refDB is not an official record of any league. Records are compiled from publicly available game reports and may contain errors, gaps, or outdated information — leagues sometimes correct or revise their own published data after the fact, and refDB may not always reflect the most current version. We do our best to keep things accurate, including by reviewing the requests users submit, but we don’t guarantee completeness or correctness of anything on the site.
Link, merge, and game-attribution requests are reviewed by an admin before anything changes in the database — submitting a request doesn’t guarantee it will be accepted. Submit requests in good faith and based on your own knowledge; don’t submit false or malicious requests (for example, claiming to be an official you aren’t, or requesting a merge you know is incorrect). We may decline a request, ask for more information, or reverse a change made in error.

The underlying game data comes from public sources, not from us. The site’s design, organization, and presentation of that data belong to refDB. Anything you submit (comments on a request, for example) you’re giving us permission to use for the purpose of reviewing and acting on that request, and for keeping a record of it.
refDB is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, reliability, or availability. We don’t guarantee the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, refDB isn’t liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, or from errors or omissions in the data it publishes.
If these terms change, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
